Hossam Taher is an Operator CEO, entrepreneur, and venture builder with a medical background. He is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Baims, a leading edtech company in the MENA region, since January 2024. Taher co-founded Orcas in 2014, a private tutoring mobile application that became one of MENA's fastest-growing EdTech platforms, serving K-12 students with personalized one-on-one tutoring. He successfully exited Orcas in 2024 when it was acquired by Baims. Prior to Orcas, he founded CairoSitters in 2014, a platform connecting parents with babysitters and tutors. Taher holds a medical degree from Cairo University and worked as a General Practitioner from 2016-2018. He is passionate about marketplaces, education, product design, and building strong company cultures. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and WU Executive Academy.
