Louwrens Van Schalkwyk is a seasoned entrepreneur and C-level executive with nearly two decades of experience in building and leading companies in the fintech sector. He co-founded MyBucks (originally GetBucks) in 2011, which became the first online lending platform in South Africa. Under his leadership as Chief Operating Officer, MyBucks expanded into nine African countries, offering comprehensive services in banking, lending, and insurance, and later expanded into Europe. The company made history as the first African-focused fintech to list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with an IPO near $143 million.
