Mr. Otaigo Elisha is a highly qualified professional with a diverse background in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics and Agricultural Economics. He obtained his Master of Science degree from IPB University in Indonesia and has developed expertise in business development for agricultural youth programs. As a co-founder of NovFeed, a firm that employs innovative bio-factories to convert food waste into high-protein fish feed, Mr. Otaigo has played a crucial role in the development of sustainable aquaculture and feed industry. With numerous years of work experience in the aquaculture and agriculture value chain, he has a deep understanding of Tanzania's environmental pressures and has supported donor-funded initiatives and industry investments. Over the course of his career, Mr. Otaigo has conducted, coordinated, led, and facilitated entrepreneurship and business planning capacity building for over 200 young people. He has worked with various organizations, including the Government of Tanzania as district economist and project coordinator of the PS3 project, the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and USAID. Mr. Otaigo's dedication to sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship has earned him recognition as a finalist of Young Green Tech (YGT) 2020 in China, Finalist Africa35.35, a UNLEASH Innovation Lab Talent, a winner of UNLEASH+ competition 2019, TEF finalist 2018, finalist Africa Entrepreneurship Award 2018, and a people's choice and second prize winner of the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition under the UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He is a valuable asset to the industry, and his expertise and passion for sustainable agriculture will undoubtedly continue to make a positive impact.
