
Taita Ngetich is a Kenyan agritech entrepreneur and CEO of Synnefa, a company providing climate-smart technologies and precision farming solutions to smallholder farmers in Africa. He co-founded Illuminum Greenhouses in 2014 (later rebranded as Synnefa) and has served as CEO since 2019. A trained mechanical engineer from the University of Nairobi, he holds an MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School (2020-2022). Ngetich is focused on improving incomes and climate resilience for over a million farmers across sub-Saharan Africa through IoT-enabled smart greenhouses, precision irrigation, and digital tools like FarmCloud and FarmShield. His work has earned him recognition as a 2024 Echoing Green Fellow, 2023 Rainer Arnhold Fellow, 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow, Google Black Founders Fund Awardee, and MIT Solve Grand Challenges Winner 2023.
