Zwiegelaar Cobus

Cobus Zwiegelaar is COO and Co-founder of AzarGen Biotechnologies, a position he has held since November 2011. He founded AzarGen in 2003 and has been instrumental in the company's growth and development. Zwiegelaar holds a PhD from Stellenbosch University and completed his Masters studies at the same institution. With expertise in biochemistry, plant biotechnology, and molecular biology, he is co-inventor of two patent families relating to AzarGen's lead therapeutic candidate and synthetic promoter technology. Prior to his full-time role at AzarGen, he worked as IT Administrator at the Institute for Plant Biotechnology, University of Stellenbosch (2003-2009) and as a Biotechnologist at the University of Stellenbosch (2002-2003). He also previously ran an IT and web-design business.
